The Fresh Start Program

Through our Women’s Fresh Start program, Neighbors of Hope gives a hand up to homeless women (and their children) by giving them up to six months of basic needs services including safe shelter, food, case management, and spiritual and personal care.

The Fresh Start program also addresses the root causes of homelessness by offering women the hope of the Gospel and a pathway to sustainable employment and housing. The goal of this program is to empower women so that they can take personal responsibility for their lives and become effective, competent members of the community.

This program offers:

  • Up to six months of free housing as a guest of Neighbors of Hope
  • Daily meals – including a hot breakfast, lunch, and supper, as well as a bagged lunch if working
  • Hot showers
  • Personal hygiene items
  • Clean bed and linens
  • Weekly laundry service
  • An address and phone number for employment applications
  • Case management – intake assessment, plan of action, and monthly reviews
  • Educational opportunities:  Life skills, personal finance, GED, relationship building, parenting
  • Growing Hope Services

To participate in the transitional housing program you must be a resident of Lenawee County

Help for the Homeless

Homelessness in our community has many causes. Job loss, mental illness, bad decisions, the breakdown of relationships, and addiction have left many of our neighbors in seemingly hopeless situations. We bring people hope through a comprehensive suite of Christ-centered programs, transforming lives with the hope of the Gospel, and making Lenawee County a better place to live and work for everyone in our community.
