Volunteer Spotlight
Volunteer Spotlight – Marie Bonkowski
Fishes & Loaves Food Pantry has been richly blessed by Marie Bonkowski’s volunteerism. Marie began volunteering at Fishes & Loaves nearly three years ago after she had retired. She had dropped off some donations to Neighbors of Hope’s Donation Center and learned about our food pantry. Wanting to get more involved in the Adrian area, she began her volunteerism journey with Fishes & Loaves.
When asked why she chose to volunteer at Fishes & Loaves, Marie says, “When I first came into the pantry, the one thing I was very impressed with was that it was set up like a grocery store. What I thought was cool was that people could shop and get what they wanted. Which I think adds a little bit more dignity to the shoppers. And I’m a foodie too. I truly believe that unless bellies are full, they can’t learn, they can’t change.”
Marie gives one day a week at the pantry and enjoys helping our shoppers, stocking shelves, and organizing things around the pantry. “And I love to organize”, Marie says. Thank you, Marie, for blessing our community and everyone associated with Fishes & Loaves Food Pantry.
