Part-Time Food Pantry Manager

Perfect opportunity for an individual with a service -based desire to make a difference in
Lenawee County.

Description:
The manager oversees the daily operations of the food pantry, including food distribution,
inventory, volunteer coordination, and compliance with safety and health regulations. Key
responsibilities include managing food donations and deliveries, maintaining accurate records,
scheduling and supervising volunteers, ensuring a safe and welcoming environment, and
building relationships with community partners. This role requires strong organizational,
communication, and computer skills.

Essential duties and responsibilities

Operations management:

  • Oversee all aspects of daily operations, including food receiving, stocking, and
    distribution.
  • Manage inventory to ensure adequate food supplies.
  • Ensure compliance with all food safety regulations and pantry policies.
  • Manage facilities, including checking refrigerator and freezer temperatures.

Volunteer and staff coordination:

  • Recruit, train, schedule, and supervise volunteers and any staff.
  • Develop and maintain a positive team spirit and morale.

Administrative and data management:

  • Accurately track and report on food donations, inventory, and clients served.
  • Maintain client confidentiality.
  • Utilize computer systems for data entry, record-keeping, and reporting (e.g.,
    Microsoft Office, Google Applications).

Community and partner relations:

  • Collaborate with community partners and food donors.
  • Deliver exceptional customer service to clients and the broader community.
  • Make referrals to other programs and services when appropriate.

Experience

Prior experience in a leadership, non-profit, or food service role. Experience with
Fundraising, food pantry operations, and best practices are a plus.

Technical skills:

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel) and Google applications.
  • Data entry and database management skills.
  • Ability to write reports and correspondence.

Soft skills:

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Excellent organizational, multitasking, and prioritization abilities.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Ability to interact compassionately with clients, volunteers, and community
    organizations.

Physical requirements:

  • Ability to lift, bend, stoop, and stand for extended periods.
  • Lifting requirements can range up to 40 lbs.
  • A valid driver's license.

Work Schedule:
Monday. Wednesday and Friday: 10 am- 3 pm
Saturdays from 10 am -noon.
Salary range: $13,600 -$15,000
