A Home For Our Neighbors

Dear Friends:

It may not have gone exactly as we had planned, but praise the Lord our Women and Children’s Ministry Center will open in Tecumseh very soon. As you may recall, there were more curves in the road than anticipated, but God has opened the doors, and we are extremely excited to be moving forward. There has been much activity taking place with facility project, as many volunteers and contractors work daily to prepare the building for housing homeless women and children. Crews have engaged in demolition and construction, extraction and installation, patching and prepping for painting, and so much more. What a blessing to see our neighbors and supporters uniting to bring this project to fruition. We are so close to finally helping the most vulnerable in community, and there is still much that needs to be done, so if you are interested in volunteering and helping us bring this vision to fruition, please contact us.

You may have heard the “blue house” that we rent on Broad Street has been sold. This is where we began our men’s ministry in 2006, known then as the Lenawee County Mission. That was 13 years ago. Now our men’s ministry is operating out of the generous hospitality of Neighborhood Church in Adrian, and we continue to share the love of Christ to the broken and weak.

For years, we have been trying to move to a larger space. We thought we had a 52 unit, 25,000 sq ft property last June, but the owners decided they wanted more money than originally agreed upon. We have looked at a couple of properties, but for one reason or another, we couldn’t make them work. Although properties for our intentions are scarce in this area, we continue to explore all possibilities, knowing that God will provide a space comparable to our new women and children’s facility. That day will come. Neighbors of Hope has always relied on our faithful and almighty God. He has provided and led us in the past, beautifully working His way, with you beside us as faithful partners. We are filled with praise to God and look forward to Him caring for the men’s ministry just as He answered our prayers for the Women and Children’s Center which is about to open.

Thank you for being a faithful neighbor to those in need through our history. Your faith, generosity, and prayer are a joy to us.

Sincerely,

Pastor Steven Palmer
