A word from Amanda
I’ve been with the Women and Children’s Ministry since they opened its doors in August of 2019. First as a volunteer, and then as a Bachelor’s level Social Work Intern from EMU. I’m very grateful that I was given the opportunity to intern at a place that has a mission I’m so passionate about. I’m also grateful for the hands-on experience and opportunities I was given to practice the skills that I’ve learned throughout my education. This experience is invaluable to me.
Being able to intern at the ministry, and being a part of their program has helped me learn and grow so much, both as a person and professionally as a Social Worker. I was blessed to be able to meet many different women during my time there and they have all touched my heart and solidified my passion for my chosen profession. I can only hope that I’ve been able to make as big of an impact on the women as they did on me. It’s bittersweet to leave, but I’m excited about my future, and the opportunities that await me.
