Testimony of Dean
“When I arrived at Neighbors of Hope in November of 2023, I was broken, misguided, and at a low point. I am thankful to have been given the opportunity to heal and recover from my alcoholic background and given hope through unconditional care and understanding. Neighbors of Hope has helped me with accountability and acceptance while living in a safe environment with men with similar backgrounds. Many parts of this program were significant and a boost of morale. For example, Growing Hope, Word Made Flesh, attending church, Friday night bible study with “The Hat,” and meeting individuals who thoroughly care for everyone in the Fresh Start Program.
Thanks to Pastor Steve and Richard, I’ve learned in depth about “the way” through daily and weekly studies, focused on relationships, forgiveness, finances, and the gospel. I’ve learned the importance of using the tools and resources I’ve obtained here to give back to those who may need them. This program has assisted me with the opportunity to establish a fresh start by helping me prepare for the next phase of my life. I appreciate that Neighbors of Hope has provided me with meals and a warm bed, all graciously contributed by donors. I am thankful that I am spiritually and financially in a better position to continue my employment and sustain housing.
Overall, I’ve learned the importance of accountability and having Jesus as the foundation of my life daily. I am assured that with hope and prayer, this program will help other men on their path to creating a fresh start. There is support here, and people who care about our well-being. “It is not about perfection, it’s about progress.”
Thank you Neighbors of Hope.
Sincerely,
Dean Jones
