Update from our Executive Director

Dear Neighbors,

It’s hard to believe that in just a few short weeks Thanksgiving will be here—a day to celebrate and express our gratitude for the many blessings we have received. But for those men, women, and children staying with Neighbors of Hope, the holidays are just stark reminders of where they are not. Many come here who have lost everything. Some are penniless and have given up. With no family or friends to turn to, they cannot see life getting better and that makes it hard to celebrate.

But even when all else fails, Jesus makes it right. Faith in God overcomes all. That’s the way it’s been since we first opened our doors more than fifteen years ago. The hungry are fed. The homeless have a safe place to sleep. Education and spiritual growth are provided. Your support provides food, safe shelter, clothing, recovery programs, educational programs, and spiritual counseling.

No one should be left out of the Thanksgiving celebration. Especially our neighbors who lost their jobs during the past year of the COVID pandemic and are still struggling to recover and care for their families. Your compassionate gift today will not only make room at the table for our neighbors in need so they too can enjoy a delicious turkey dinner, but will also help provide them safe shelter, care, and spiritual support.

Please give generously to help as many people as possible. After this incredibly difficult year, the best way you can bless people who are hurting is by welcoming them to a Thanksgiving celebration that surrounds them with God’s love.

Thank you. We appreciate you, and God bless you.
