Relocation Brings Success and Improvement to Food Pantry
Fishes & Loaves Food Pantry recently went through a major change as we moved from 410 E Maumee St to 423 W Maumee St. This move was made so that we can take advantage of having more space for food storage as well as allowing us to improve the shopping experience for families. We are excited to continue helping those suffering from hunger-related issues in Lenawee County.
This move also granted us with the ability to centralize Fishes & Loaves and Blessings and More Donation Center into one location. This means our supporters can now bring their food donations and textile/clothing donations to the same building. We have been open at this new location since February 24th and have heard nothing but good things about the layout and feel of the pantry from those who have utilized our service.
We are always in need of donations to stock our shelves as the need within our community remains large. Food insecurities continue to plague a wide number of individuals and families in Lenawee County. Currently, the specific needs for donations would consist of milk, eggs, canned meats, and salad dressings.
The biggest need currently with Fishes and Loaves is volunteers. We are looking for volunteers that can commit time on a consistent basis. For instance, we could use help on Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Fridays from 10 am – 3 pm and would also welcome volunteers for our evening or Saturday hours (Tues & Thursday from 5 pm-7 pm or Saturday from 10 am-Noon). So if you have time on these days in which you could commit to volunteering please contact us.
