And Jesus went on with his disciples to the villages of Caesarea Philippi. And on the way he asked his disciples, “Who do people say that I am?” And they told him, “John the Baptist; and others say, Elijah; and others, one of the prophets.” And he asked them, “But who do you say that I am?” Peter answered him, “You are the Christ.” And he strictly charged them to tell no one about him.

Being a Member of the Band
Insight from One of our LifeChange Residents
“Before, I feel like I went to the Jesus concert, bought a t-shirt and went home. But this Messiah. This bringer of life. He ushers in this new kingdom that is here now. He is the one waiting for me to join this movement to tour with the band. In this process, I see myself truthfully. I see myself as he sees me. Restored. Emotionally available. Not shut off. Not hardened. Not wallowing in my hurt.
He’s the one that takes this pain and gives me rest. He puts me on this path that is ironically downward. Through this path I learn to descend into my valley of the shadow, not fearing evil, but to arrive daily at the crucifixion of my wants. To nail my needs to the tree and through this death, I end up seeing my true self.
I now learn who this man that God has brought back to life is.
